Furthermore, some ERMs including, enthalpy wheel, natural ventilation, daylighting and overhang were adopted to the model to explore the optimum energy saving solution. In this paper, an integration of a photovoltaic (PV) system and a combined heat and power (CHP) generator in an educational building located in Dayton OH was designed to conserve the energy consumption and reduce carbon dioxide emission, using eQuest and Homer models. By using simulation models such as eQUEST, the effect of each ERM can be estimated separately or as a whole. To improve the energy efficiency of a building, a variety of energy retrofitting measures (ERMs) could be applied.
